ALEXANDER SOKUROV'S FRANCOFONIA TO OPEN RUSSIAN FILM FESTIVAL IN VIENNA. RUSSKIY MIR FOUNDATION. 17.11.2015

The Days of Russian Cinema will take place in Vienna early next month. The festival line-up includes seven films made in the space of more than 40 years, RIA Novosti reports.
Alexander Sokurov’s Francofonia will open the festival. It will be presented by the film director himself. Earlier, the same picture opened the Sputnik Over Poland Film Festival.
Film fans will have a chance to see two ‘70s-era films, Star in the Night and Twenty Days Without War. They will also see some Russian films made over the past two years, including Will to Live, Championsand others.

An evening featuring composer Eugen Doga will also take place at the festival. Eugen Doga has scored many Soviet films. His waltz written for A Hunting Accident is especially popular with the public.
